96 Well Skirted PCR Plate
Accurate, Sensitive and Consistent for Real Time PCR
Low profile, 0.1 ml polypropylene wells, rigid polycarbonate frame, cut corner H1, working volume: <100 µl, total well capacity: 200 µl; now also available as low binding plate with ultra-low DNA binding properties.
The low profile wells of this plate are shorter than “standard” profile wells, which decrease the “dead space” between the heated lid of the thermal cycler and the sample in the well. This eliminates condensation forming on the side wall of the tubes, preventing reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction. This is especially recommended for reaction volumes below 20 µl.
The rigid polycarbonate skirt of this design eliminates warping and distortion during PCR, and makes it ideal for use with robotic systems. It adds stability of the plate – as a result thermal expansion and sample evaporation is reduced significantly, leading to an improved consistency in PCR results

Now Available – Low Binding Plates with Ultra-Low DNA Binding Properties
Sensitive applications such as Next Generation Sequencing sample preparation applications demand the highest quality consumables. Low binding polypropylene tubes allow for multiple incubation and transfer steps without sample loss.
Polypropylene (PP) is the best plastic material for PCR tubes as it is chemically inert, resistant to solvents, and well suited for injection moulding – allowing for production of thin-walled tubes for optimum PCR results.
DNA has been shown to bind to PP tubes especially at high ionic strength, despite the very hydrophobic nature of this material. Different PP polymers are used for the production of PCR consumables and as they differ in their characteristics including surface charges, they consequently bind DNA in varying amounts.
DNA binding to PP surfaces has typically only been an issue for reaction tubes and storage vessels but not for PCR/qPCR tubes. DNA sticking to tube walls is either released during denaturation steps and/or remains accessible for amplification.
Nevertheless, due to a progressing volume miniaturisation and with new technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), PCR/qPCR tubes are more and more also recommended for other applications which may require ultra-low DNA binding.

Forensic applications demand the highest quality consumables. Avoiding external DNA contamination is of the utmost importance, and as a result high demands are placed upon manufacturers of products for use throughout the workflow.
At 4titude®, we have a stringently controlled cleanroom production facility certified, according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, for production of DNA and RNA free products. Following cleanroom production, 4titude®’s consumables for forensic use are packed into ethylene oxide permeable bags and then subjected to ethylene oxide sterilisation. This plate is available with linear Code 128-format barcodes to aid identification and traceability for your samples.
